I have one but the manufacturer is out of business. A friend has one that he got a year or so ago and I will find out the brand and model for you. Mine burns deer corn or wood pellets and cooks awesome.

I've got a Green Mountain Davy Crockett model...It the smaller tailgate model. Runs on 110 volt or 12 volt...Also has Wi-Fi so you can program it and run off your phone if wanted. It works great and I like being able to take it camping or such and plug in a cig liter.

I also have a green mountain...mine is the Daniel Boone... nice unit yet i wish i could get a stronger smoke flavor from it when smoking food! To grill just move the bottom grates to let the flame be more direct. Wish it got hotter than it does though...it says 500 but i have a hard time believing that. All in all i like it and i tend to use it more than my charcoal due to it convenience and the taste is better than the gas grill. Typically if im smoking i start on the charcoal grill for and hour or so to get a good smoke then transfer to the pellet and finish....

My grill is a Corn Glo model. A co-worker's dad designed and built them here in TN but the cost was really high. Later, he had some built in China and lost his tail on them. I replaced a motor control pcb in a pallet shrink wrapping machine and he gave me 3 of them. The grate is 32 inches by 18 inches. It doesn't have auto temp control and doesn't have the grease drain/bucket. It is more of a gourmet grill that can cook a whole turkey with room to spare. That said, my experience with other models is very limited. I can tell you this. Pellet grills cook much differently than gas or charcoal. They cook fast and you won't think the meat is done but it is and very juicy I might add. They do not have the heavy smoked flavor of an actual smoker. One thing I do is use a smoking tube which is basically a round tube with holes that is capped on one end. You put wood chips in it and place it near the burner box. A good pellet to use is "Cookin Pellets". They are 100% what ever the type of wood they are listed as.
My friend has a Treager tailgater. He paid around $350 on Amazon with free shipping and really likes it. As far as I can tell, Rectec grills are the best and have the thickest gauge metal.

Figure you have probably already made a choice on which to purchase. I moved from a stick burner to a pellet grill and had a hard time getting used to the lack of smoke taste. Best one I've found was a Rec Tec, they have a full 5yr warranty and are easy to reach in case of an emergency, called on a Sunday once and was surprised to actually reach the owner Ray. He walked me through resetting my grill and adjusting the speed rate (of feeding the pellets) and saved my family cookout. Hard to find that kind of service and an actually warranty that is stood behind 100%, instead of telling you what you did wrong to mess it up. Besides they look cool as heck... www.rectecgrills.com

I have never tried a pellet smoker and wouldn't know how to make this work, but I have always had best luck smoking using shall green limbs even if the leaves are still on them. My favorite with poultry has always been sasafrass.
