Awhile back our shooting buddy Bill had gotten some of this HBN and thought it was great stuff.
So I thought I would give it a try in a factory hunting rifle,it was a savage 6.5 creedmoor that I chose.
This rifle shoots really great with loads and bullets I have tried in it so far.I cleaned the rifle very clean like the instrutions said
and coated the barrel.
Last week I shot some groups before I cleaned and used the HBN,so I would have a comparsion.
Before: Using a hornady 123 a-max with 44.6 gr of H4350 1-2928 2916 2-2955 2904 3-2920 2926 a-2934 es-35 a-2915 es22 After coating: Group 1 Group2 Group3 at 300yds 3-shots
1-2913 1-2932 avg 2925 es 7 2-2920 2-2933 3-2923 avg 2919 es10 3-2929 avg 2932 es4 So far looks to be good stuff, going to test it in my 260 rem next. If anyone else has tried this what was your results?

I think I read that David Tubb recommended recommend that for accuracy, pressure and better barrel life? May have been another similar product??
Anyway how are you applying it to your bullets and does the coverage go on consistently? How hard is the application?
Thanks for posting.

Little off topic but i extensively coated bullets for my muzzleloader shooting blackhorn last season and accuracy was great. But without any doubt it is abrasive and wears barrel. But coating bullets puts way more hbn in barrel than simply coating barrel

#BergerBullets, #ChristensenArms, #LongRangeShooting, #BrozGoingLong This was the best video for applying HBN that I found on the net. I have been using molly in my target rifles for a lot of years without any problems. The reason I picked a hunting rifle is because they have factory barrels not custom barrels. In the video he states that if you just coat the bullets it takes 20 to 30 shots to coat the barrel,so I did the barrel coat. This tells me if it takes that many shots it is coating the barrel very little. Don't shoot completion any more but if I did I would surley clean the molly out and give it a try, just for the low es. Don't need it in my hunting rifles either but liked the way the test came out so far. Got my 260 ready for the same test soon as I can.

I started using HBN last year on my 6PPC, 6BR and 6.5x47. I had to bump my loads up about .4-.6 grains to get the speed back. Had had almost no fliers or cold bore shots. All my rifles shot more consistently. I won 5 matches compared to 1 the previous year. Applying HBN is a learned process. But having single digit ES and consistent accuracy is well worth it.
