Since the last Kentucky Challenge I haven't had time to do any shooting other than test firing customers rifles that I've finished up.. I've been working in the shop every day trying to get everyone's rifle done so they can use it during their hunting season this year.. As hard as I'm trying there will be some that just won't make the dead line. Working 40 hours a week at the Rail Road and another 50-60 in the gun shop don't leave me much time for test firing my personal rifles, but my customers rifles come first and I'm doing everything I can to get them done.. I thought some of you would like to see what I've been up to lately so here are some of the rifles I've built since the Challenge. 45 SPML Remington Ultimate conversion, Brux barrel, Leupold scope, Muzzle brake. 300 Win Mag, Surgon Action, Krieger barrel, Manners Stock, Nightforce Scope, muzzle brake, custom paint. 6.5 Creedmoor, Remington 700, H. S. Precision stock, Hart barrel, Nikon scope, custom paint. 26 Nosler, Remington 700, Brux Barrel, Boyd's Stock, Vortex scope. 7MM Rem Mag, Remington 700, Manners stock, Keieger barrel, Vortex scope, muzzle brake, custom paint. 300 Win Mag, Remington 700, McMillan stock, Brux barrel, Leupold Scope, custom paint. 243 Winchester, Remington 700, McMillan Stock, Krieger barrel, Vortex scope. 243 Winchester, Manners stock, Krieger barrel, Muzzle brake, 3, 5 round magazines, Vortex scope, muzzle brake, custom paint. 45 SPML Remington Ultimate conversion with Bell & Carlson stock. I will keep cranking them out and hopefully get everyone done soon... Thanks. Jeff.

What stock is on the 4th from the bottom? The 700 rem action 300 win mag. That is a McMillan A3 Sporter. It has a lot of the features of the GameScout but they chose to make the drop at the heel by making the comb a Monte Carlo and they put a beavertail on the forearm even though the top of the forearm is still narrow like the GameScout so restricts barrel channel size. The A3 Sporter is like an El Camino; it looks enough like both of it's parents to be recognizable but doesn't do what either one was able to do. If one needs a stock like that I still think the best choices are the McMillan Game Scout or HTG (both with an adjustable comb) or the Manners MCS-TA or the EH-1A (adjustable comb version, not on their site yet but it about to ship the first orders).

Awesome looking builds!! Nice to look at several finished guns all in a row. It's giving me a few ideas for my Hankins Smokeless Muzzleloader #2.

My first vehicle was a El Camino, which had a great place to hide the cooler behind the seat. Things you do when you young, stupid and lucky! When I get around to building a rifle I was looking for a stock that would take a good size barrel. I have an HTG on my Savage 220 slug gun and there is plenty of room around the barrel. They made it with the sniper fill for extra weight. I may get the same thing, but with an adjustable comb, or the other model I was looking at was the Varmint with the 2 inch foreend. I really like the camo on the manners stocks and some of the new McMillians

Thanks Guys... For all the positive's..... I didn't say anything negative, I just answered a question about a stock. McMillan keeps introducing new stocks to "meet customer demands" and I keep wondering who is demanding them. All the guns look good and have quality parts according to your summary for each. I'm sure they will shoot great, guys will love them and promote them. The barreled action you did for me shoots well. Is that a PT&G Stealth bottom metal on the .243 in the Manners T5? My wife just got me that bottom metal for my birthday and it shipped with the wrong pillars and socket head screws. Luckily I had a bag full of pillars from you to fix the issue and the factory screws still work:

Keith., Yes that is a Stiller bottom metal. I use them a lot along with PT&G, some CDI and occasionally a Badger. As for the pillars being incorrect, I never use the pillars that come with the stocks or bottom metal as I have found it is easier for me to turn new pillars to size than it is to rework the ones that come with the parts..
