I finally found some Vihtavuori N110 to try out as a booster for my hunting load this coming fall. I think it will work good as a replacement for my 5gr of Clays International I was using in the past. I have a pound of 4759 that I tried first a few weeks ago but the results were not all that great. Remington 700ML with .45 cal McGowen barrel Savage breech plug with .030 tungsten carbide bushing duplex of 7gr 4759 / 62gr IMR4198 250gr Barnes TEZ knurled .060 veggie wad W209 primer 100yd 3 shots same as above but with 10gr N110 / 57gr IMR4198 temp 45*F wind 15mph from 4-5 o'clock position 6 shots (I'm guessing where shot 6 went, could have also been between 2 and 5 but the darker bullet smudges makes it look like its in the right spot)

That's shooting a light mono bullet pretty good.

Yup, that good for a light weight (or even any weight) mono! Results almost always seem better with cup and core bullets although one time I did shoot my very smallest group (.063") with the Barnes 290 TEZ? Maybe a fluke but they did shoot very well with the Clays duplexes I was using!

Looking good.... I have shot the 250 TEZ a few times out of my 700 ML and .45 McGowen. The 10/50 4759/4198 duplex shot around moa with a wool wad and a slight knurl. Although N110 is probably a better choice for the mono bullet. The TEZ will fall down my barrel right out of the pack without a knurl.
