Just for the heck of it, I gave Hank a call this morning....................Got a good connection at OUR RANGE. Hank said they had about eight or nine there and were expecting three more. I could smell the bacon cooking. Looks like they will have a good day...............................Damn, I wish I was there!

Deadeye gravy, biscuits, bacon and eggs for breakfast was great for starters. Hankins bean soup deluxe was on the menu for lunch and anytime a belly growled. Deadeyedon and Eric bought pulled pork, buns and barbecue sauce for supper. Mark Brucklemyer was the Grand Champion Winner of the 17 yard shootout. Deadeye wore out the deer's nose at 444 yards more than once. It was great to see many familiar faces that returned to Our Range. Dennis found his way with no problems to his first Kentucky Challenge. It was great meeting you Dennis, hope you return! Everyone was safe and had a great time. See you all at the Spring Kentucky Challenge!

it was a great time even though many including me showed up on little to no sleep the past day or so.
it was great to spend some time looking & getting a small course on some new equipment like the Lab Radar and sig kilo rangefinder that deadeyedon brought for us to test out for ourselves. I'm sure some plastic will be burning shortly.
the wind was mostly around 10-12mph coming right at us for the most part but as many know on this range currents change very fast & it showed on some of our faces after losing a few occasionally & at times gushed up to around 20mph but most of us were feeding during the big gust for the most part.
kyle had multiple 2- shot 1 holers on steel @ 444yds very impressive on his part.
after all shooting was done I took a stroll down to look at the area around the nose & head we were gonging all day, good news the misses very just barely & i'm sure all would have been deer vital zone kills as it appeared all misses were within in a approx. 6" radius circle around the area most were aiming at.
great meeting dennis along with returning veterans.
I had a blast!
thx again jeff & all!

it was a quick turn around for me, up @3 am then a 4 hr 20 minute drive to the range, had to go at 4 and then back home. had a great time though, it was worth the trip to visit old friends and socialize.
I burned some powder myself and even fired off Eric's 6.5 SAUM and Mark's 6 XC, both very accurate guns. 9 hours on the road for 8 hours with friends? It was worth it!!

I also had a great time and appreciate all the hard work that others put in to make this shooting range and keep it up. Thanks to you Hank for providing/making available your land to do this. It was a real eye opener to me to see these custom rifles, nothing like my production stuff, they are works of art and are real accurate shooters. Thanks to the chefs who cooked the food it was all real good. Hope someone took home the jerky I left, don't want to waste food. Just before I arrived back home I got some really sad news that kind of darkened my good time there, maybe sometime I'll share but I am still trying to process the tragic news. Thanks for the great fellowship .

Sounds like a lot of fun!! Maybe one day I'll make the trip and get in on the gun.
Dennis, glad you had a great time, and sorry to hear you had some bad news when you got home. I pray for comfort and peace during your difficult time.

A long day as serval others had as well, but well worth it. Really good to see everyone and to meet a new face. Don't worry Dennis, Don and I enjoyed what was left on our trip back home, thank you, it was excellent. It was great to meet you, sorry to hear about your bad news.
Always nice to check out all the different optics, stocks and equipment for future builds and such. A pretty nice assortment of center fires there as well to play with and check out.
The sausage was outstanding as always, thanks for cooking Jeff. The Bean soup was excellent as well Hank.
Thank you as always to Jeff for having everyone down and all the folks who have put in the work over the years. Looking forward to the spring shoot.

anyone that has attended in the past will tell you it's a great time, come and find out guys, you will be glad you did.

I had a good time at the Polar Bear shoot. The weather was not to bad, would have been better without the wind though. I think that there has been an improvement in the accuracy of the shooters at the challenges from where we where at the first couple. The groups being shot now at the challenge at 400yds by some shooters are probably better than the group I shot at 200yds at the first challenge. I would like to thank Kyle for the targets , powder vials and cases that I won in the 17yd shoot, and also Jeff for putting on the shoots. I don't want to forget to thank Deadeye for fixing breakfast at ever shoot we have had so far, he knows how to make a great breakfast.
I'm ready for April to get here for the next Kentucky Challenge, hope to see everyone there.

Jeff................that was one of your best videos! It really showed what OUR RANGE is all about! I really hated to miss it but the drive was too much for a one day shoot. But, on a brighter note, the April shoot is just around the corner!

Great video Jeff, it gives a very good representation of what everyone can expect at one of the Kentucky Challenges. It was nice to see all the guys from the previous shoots and some of the first timers.

I sure would enjoy participating at one of these shoots, meeting a bunch of good guys and learning a lot more about shooting the smokeless guns. Also would be the only opportunity for me to shoot at a distance further than 200 yards, that would be very cool to learn how to hit one of the steel plates at 444 yards! I live too far away for a single day event, but will have to plan on making one of the weekend shoots. I'm waiting to learn if I draw a Wisconsin turkey tag since the season I selected includes the same weekend as the spring Kentucky Challenge. Maybe I can get down there for the fall shoot?

You get a good idea of the atmosphere at all of the shoots from this video, this one was just a fun time with no competition and thus a little more laid back.
I must say that I have made some good friends here and every time we get together it's kind of like a family reunion of sorts, it's good to meet new guys and make new friends, good food don't hurt either!!!
