I have no loads for the Whelen. But, the 35 cal has become one of my favorites. IN had a low power rifle law until last year, when they passed hpr on private land for a 5yr trial basis. Right now, its a two caliber rule, anything 243 or 30cal is allowed. This year they have proposed any 243 cal up. So in prior years, I worked with the 357max, then onto 358win. I have accumulated about 4k bullets, a lot being the goodies no longer made. I have been mulling over getting a Whelen barrel to compliment my other two, and hunt happily ever after with the 35's. Please keep us posted on how it shoots. Good luck.

Dead deer , thanks for your reply , First of Mike Bellm did an awsome job on making sure my Encore head spaced properly and fit my frame ,also set my trigger up . Next i did a little work on my for end, mounted a cheapo scope just for a quick bench session . I had bought some hornady superformance and fusion factory ammo . The fusion (box says 2800FPS) shot holes touchin at 100 as did the superfomance ( box says 2930 FPS) id have to run thru the chrono to verify. Now if i can duplicate the factory ammo ill be grinning . There just isnt alot of whelen or 35 ammo out there .let alone bullets and brass for reloading .It is manufactured just not stocked in local shops .
If the 358 diameter was legal in most states as a ML im sure it would overtake the 45
