Ok so I'm going to use the 4 climbing stands that I don't use for climbing any more as "lock on" type stands. Easy to put up, leave them and access with some type of climbing sticks. Never used climbing sticks before so anybody that has used them what kind do you use, what kind do you like and why? Thanks, 10 ga

I've used them and if your leaving them as a permanent set up they're great. I thought I'd carry them in every time and that was a pain. I'd use screw in steps instead of sticks.

I have several different sticks and the best out there IMO are Rapid Rails, they are very light, hold the tree very well and are easy/quick to install. I also use screw in steps If I can but prefer the rails.

I have several sets of ameristep 20ft climbing sticks. Walmart.com usually has them cheaper online than you can buy them in the store plus get free ship to store. They work great for the cost. My only complaint for them is they are heavy and I wouldn't want to pack them a long ways.

I really like a good set of climbing sticks. Actually had a buddy weld up a set that worked really well. Check out a few decent options and see what grabs you.
