Just seeing what everybody is using for one piece bases? Also when shooting out to 500 yards is the 20 moa base good or more moa? Planning on 30mm Vortex scope. Thanks

I have been using Blackhawk 20MOA bases on both of my SMLs and have no issues to-date.

20 MOA base is plenty for 500 and beyond, Blackhawk, Nightforce, Badger etc... should all work fine, just decide how much you want to spend😁

I'm getting way past that without a 20moa base unless you just want one.

Not planning on using brake on gun so I'm thinking on 275gr to 300gr Pitman or Parker. Hoping H4198 will work cuz already have that on hand. Just want to do it right the first time. Thanks guys for the guidance.

Leupold 15 moa mark 4 picatinny rail base solved my problem of not being able to sight in at 100yds with an older conquest 6.5x20x50 ...The higher power scopes and long ranges work better with a 15to20 moa base on my guns...I was running out of adjustment without it....

I'm I going to notice a 20 Moa base on my cheek placement on my M40 B&C stock? I understand ring height makes a diff to. If I don't need 20 moa mount I should be able to keep a 50mm bell scope a lot lower? Or do I just worry to much? Thanks Guys

I have a 8X32X56 Nightforce NXS on a Nightforce 20 moa base with medium Nightforce ultralight rings and have 170 thousandths clearance. Plenty . Actually going to try a set of low in the future Drop

I would go with the 20 moa base as it will put your crosshairs more in the center of the scope. With my standard Picatinny rail.................By the way, Brownells has a steel clone of the Farrell rail for a bout $20 less money. I have them on both my ML'ers. I actually just ordered Burris tactical rings from Mid-South not five minutes ago. I am getting the Low (1/4") rings. I presently have the medium's and have over 3/10" of clearance on my Sightron 8x32x56 scope and that is with a 25 moa custom mount. So Low should work just fine unless you like the scope up a bit higher. I was going to order the mediums again but they were out of them so since I had enough clearance and the had the low's in stock I thought I would try them.

for the money Talley and Seekins are both hard to beat if you want aluminum, I have used Farrell, Murphy, Warne and many others in steel with good success. as long as it's a CNC machined picatinny rail you are good, some are very pricey but work no better than the less expensive ones of good quality.
while a 20 moa base works great it's not necessary to get to 500 with a decent scope, I run 20s on most of my guns though, just in case I want to go long.
