Haven't checked myself, but have heard a pubic hair is .003" thickness. That's how thin the petals would have to be (perhaps even thinner). ......and to think my youngest son moved to 'bama to get out of the cold!

I tried paper patching but could not get it to work in my application. The paper did hold up to full tilt loads with no leading. There is a fellow on the otber board I talk to who has had good results with pp bullets in muzzys.
As stated, even paper will be too thick for your idea. You will need a smaller bullet OR you will need to try an idea I never got around to. That being paper patch and full form of the bullts after patching. I theorize this will work. I am going to make another mold to try a powder coated bullet variation of the full formed lead paper patch (more of a jacketed to be 100% correct). You may possibly be able to get away with the powder coated version as a bullet coating and get your idea accomplished. I should have my mold made and be able to try the powder coated full form lead bullets by years end and will report the results.

Sounds to me like paper patching is taking a step backwards "Schultz!" Maybe with a lead bullet to prevent leading in the bore??? And why would you want to introduce something we have worked to eliminate? (the sabot-which is the weakest link in the equation?) For the most part, even the was has been eliminated in most applications?
