Thats a complicated question. 2 different bullets and a mountain of variable loads. Richard should jump in here soon. He will have the most recorded test's. He can get the 300SST to perform pretty acceptable @300yds. But IIRC its by undersizing them then knurling them back up. I have not found that sweet spot for them. As of yet. And I havent the patience as if yet. And then pre-sizing considering spring-back. Sorry for the ramble Drop

In my opinion from the little but of testing I've done, both have very similar BC's. You'll see better accuracy with the BE's because they can obturate into barrel easier. If you can figure out how to size the SST down enough to knurl back up for a snug fit and use a good booster you can achieve the same accuracy. BE's you'll be able to just get the accuracy quicker.

Plus 1 BEs are much easier to get to shoot ! Also have been proven deer killers . There is a reason that Jeff Hankins shot BEs exclusively before Kyle came up with his bullets . He always said they are the easiest bullets to get to shoot . Now Kyle's Accumax s are also easy to get to shoot with a better BC and little thicker Jacket .

It all depends upon the intended use. For target work, the be might have an edge but I have found the sst to be accurate too. For extended ranges beyond 300 yards the AccuMax is the choice.
For deer hunting purposes at 300 yards and less, of the two choices I would only use the 300 sst or 250 TC bonded shock waves (which are sst's made by hornaday but bonded. The be's are grenades and destroy a lot of meat. For extended ranges the AccuMax is the ticket.
At blackhorn speeds the be may obturate better..

Back when I shot 50cal & BH209 I had better results with a saboted BE 275's, however I did not put a lot of effort into the SST's.
I have also shot several large Midwest deer with BE's and the bullet has preformed very well.
As several members have already commented, the BE's with the thinner jacket will most likely shoot better with less experimenting.
BE's will also go down most barrels without the need to size them.
With my SML I have switched over to Pittman 275 Accumax's, better BC, thicker wall & flatter shooting.

I know droptine wanted me to weight in but the members who have posted above pretty much nailed it. That being said, if I could only have ONE bullet to shoot? It would be the 300 gr. AccuMaxx! The other work well but not as consistently as the AccuMax.

When I went to 45cals sml barrels, I traded all my .458 bullets for 300sst. I also used 275MH, but did not get enough out of them for the cost. I think I have 12 boxes total of the sst now, and they shoot great for me. I had 2 kills last year, 242yd and 385yd. The closer shot went in the neck straight on and stopped by the tail. Perfect textbook expansion. Its the only recovered bullet in about 8-9 deer so far. No complaints by me.
