Using Kyle's AccuMax 300's I made an unbelievable shot on the evening of Nov. 18th 2016. I have practiced for a shot like this if it ever presented itself. We were hunting on my friends lease when I spotted 3 deer coming out of a wood lot on to a freshly planted tree farm. The range was over 800 yards when I asked my friend "what do you think" and he replied "don't know until you try it ". I then made up my mind and got set up on her while he got on the spotting scope to spot for me. Standing at 820 yards I made my first shot. The impact was high, right over her back. Not knowing what had happened she just stood there. While I reloaded and was getting ready she took a few more steps and stepped in a logging road (broadside). At 826 yards I dialed up 37 moa and held 6 moa for wind and the AccuMax was on it's way. The impact was high in the back but she was down in the road. We couldn't believe what just happened! I made the longest shot I have ever made. Pittman bullets are awesome and the only bullet I'll ever shoot!

608,
Well done, that's was some shot.
Had you shot this distance before or dialed it in based on drop data from lessor distances.

Glad you made the shot. I hate to see a wounded animal occur just for target practice.

Nice shot! That's a lot of drop and windage to dial for. What velocity are you pushing the 300 accumax?

thats a heck of a long shot! glad you made it work, that is the record for this board for sure.. Thanks Bill. My previous long shot was at 608 yards last year on a doe. The technology and the accuracy of these current smokeless muzzle loaders are unrivaled given the right conditions.

Forgot to mention about my gun. I'm using a savage ml 2 converted to a 45 cal. My barrel is a pac-nor 1:22 twist using 65 grains of IMR 4198 with the Pittman AccuMax 300. My breech is a .030 tungsten bushing I purchased from Jeff. My scope is a Vortex HS LR 4x16x50

Tim has put his time in shooting his muzzleloader. He was one of my very first customers and has been sending me results and pics of targets and groups along the way. Tim stated he has been practicing out to 800. He sent me a pic a week or so ago of shooting he did at 670 and 800 with very respectable accuracy. Congratulations on your harvest and accomplishment Tim!!

Tim..............That is one long "poke!" Great shooting! Without your practice at those distances I would say it was a foolish shot to take but you proved that with knowledge and practice, under the right conditions, a shot like that can be made. Having competed successfully at both 600 and 1,000 yards I am aware of the difficulty in making such shots. Again, great shooting!

I'm not sure what Tims zero is but with a 200 yard zero and an estimated BC of .320-.325, 37 MOA is in the ballpark in the program that I use. I plugged in 1500 for elevation as a guess and a scope height height of 1.7".

Thanks guys for the positive comments. As Kyle stated earlier I have put my time in shooting my muzzle loader at ranges out to 800 yards and it seemed I was purchasing bullets off of Kyle every other week lol. But this is how much I enjoy and take this sport seriously.
