I haven't glued anything since my "magnum sub-base days". One can get a better feel that a bullet is sized correctly, and it is going down the barrel with the same effort as others by loading the wad and bullet individually. I just start the wad with my thumb and push it down with the ramrod, then the bullet. That may be an extra step, but then, so is the gluing process.

I would not want anything glued to base of bullet. Seems putting wad in barrel then bullet would be ideal. I simply put wad in muzzle and then bullet and push it home and ck reference mark on ramrod.
Getting a wad in sideways seems difficult and would probably show up different in relationship to reference mark.

I also just place the wad in and carefully seat it with my thumb.
Any slight unevenness will be adjusted when you place the bullet in and seat it on the powder charge.
Please make sure to have a wittiness mark ( I use blue painters tape, which can be easily adjusted if necessary) on your ramrod to ensure the bullet is properly seated and most importantly NO DOUBLE CHARGES. !!!

After putting in the wad (thru my brake) I then use my powder funnel (which only enters the bore about 1/2") to square up the wad with the bore...............then add my bullet and seat.

I also just place the wad in and carefully seat it with my thumb. Any slight unevenness will be adjusted when you place the bullet in and seat it on the powder charge. This is my experience too. I just loaded my gun and tested the wad with slight misalignment by pushing a loose fitting bullet in 1/2" and pulling it back out and the wad was no longer misaligned. Unless using a poor fitting wad or an extremely misaligned wad, I don't foresee there being a problem.
