The probable cause that your hammer wont cock is the screw that goes up into the rear of the frame that is underneath the grip cap. if tightened too much or not spaced out correctly the hammer will not cock as the strut in the frame is compreseed by said screw.

Kyle , ive cked that all works well with the factory 30\ 06 barrel i measured the center of pin to rear of lug and the begerra is approx 10 thounsands longer so im not sure if that has any thing to do with it , If i get it to fire a primer module , it then wont break open some just aint right the 30\ 06 barrel works to perfection and fires perfect

Is your hammer rebounding and the trigger resetting on every shot when you fire the begara?

Disassemble the gun and remove the allen screw holing the firing pin assembly in. Make sure there is nothing blocking the travel of the firing pin. You may want to get a heavier hammer spring. I have one on my Encore and it greatly enhanced the primer strikes.

sounds like a headspace issue to me. Begera is notorious for this. Mike Bellm can explain better than I, but he modifies every begera barrel he sales. I had to send my frame and barrel to him to fix the exact issue you are describing. Begera will also fix if you contact them. They will fix for free but I trust Mike and wanted it fixed right.

Notorious problem with Bergara barrels. I have had several. The extractor is too long. When the action closes and the shell inserts, the front bevel on the extractor gets stuck on the front edge of the receiver. That's what pushes the shell back out when opening the action, but it binds and locks up the action. You have to shorten and polish the front angle side of the extractor a little at a time until it clears. Not hard to do if you can do it yourself.

I have 2 Begera barrels for my TC Encore. A Begera 45/70 HIS conversion & a standard CVA Begera 50cal muzzle-loader barrel, both work fine. I have had some issues with the correct pin to frame fit. As Kyle stated check to make sure your firing pin and firing pine hole is clean, before I switched to Jeff's HIS system my firing pin would get so fouled up after 10-20 shots that the firing pin would get stuck and give me issues with dry fires. Mike Bellm sells a whole array of items for the TC's. Firing pin return & hammer springs, oversized hinge pins ETC... www.bellmtcs.com/store/Good luck

This encore frame has a Bellm kit in it . i believe its in the extractor / head space issue .When the 30/06 Tc barrel is installed ...there are no problems , I may be sending it to mike im waiting for him to call me back .

Yes based on your description I believe your right about the extractor. If you did use it with a standard muzzle-loader barrel I would also make sure the firing pin area is clean to avoid future issues. Good luck.

So far I've had good results with Begera barrels. In the future if you are looking for a true custom barrel there are several builders out there, MGM & Bullberry come to mind and then have Jeff install the HIS breech plug. With MGM I believe you can choose the barrel manufacturer, length, twist ETC... Will be a more expensive option, however this would enable you to get exactly what you want. matchgrademachine.comwww.bullberry.com/encore_barrels.htmlGood luck

This combo has proven very accurate and we have seen 1.2 inch groups at 300 yards using Accumax bullets and IMR-4198.

I'll left Jeff answer you, but I ordered one a couple of weeks back and he had some in stock. I can't wait to see what that BRUX barrel can do. I have several BRUX barrels on bolt actions and have yet to buy one that didn't out shoot me. I am also excited to try Jeff's HIS system in the barrel I purchased. I have been reading nothing but positive reviews for over a year now on Jeff's LMRP modules and I have a 700 bolt gun with cut cases no LMRP that shoots lights out.

I don't think you will be disappointed at all . I think Jeff's system really shines with the break action guns . I can not say for sure but from what I have read on the break action guns it seems like they have some trouble with the 209 systems . Jeff's system is guaranteed to seal .It sure seems like the best system out there !
