Relatively loose.............I like to be able to feel a little "scraping" as they are pushed down the barrel. I have also found that (for me?) they want a veggie wad under them or they will not shoot well. Your mileage may vary! I also only use my duplex with them! For me, the 290 TEZ shoots better than the 250.

My two rifles like them loose. I knurl them up some to get resistance when pushing them down the bore.
I use a .060 veggie wad with 5gr Clays International/60gr IMR4198
I used 250gr TEZs last year and they shot very well, consistently giving me less than 1 inch groups at 100yds. I am using 290gr TEZs this year just to try them out and, for me, shoot the same as the 250s.
I did shoot some single powder loads of IMR4198 with the 250s last year when load testing. It seemed, with more powder, the groups got tighter. I did notice with the single powder load, when my flash channel got a certain amount of carbon buildup (savage .030 bushing breech plug), my groups opened up some, this has not been the case with the duplex load.

My gun shoots Accumax 275's better loose as well.
I started tight and when I resized them to go down the barrel with moderate pressure(one handed pressure on ramrod) this improved the accuracy.
Good luck
