Just wondering what distance you all think it will take to win the Pittman long shot contest? After shooting mine at 400 the other day looks like our guns are pretty capable to make some pretty long shots.

I think it will take a longer distance than most guys have available to shoot.

I know there are some great shooters on here.I shot regularly out to as far as 1250 yards with some of my center fires.Got more than that just haven't set up targets yet.

All three contest entries, AccuMax Long Shot, AccuMax Big Buck and AccuMax Big Doe, will be held secret until the contest is over. Visit www.pittmanbullets.com for contest rules. Although I have been sent numerous harvest pictures already this season, no entries have been submitted for each contest. Good luck to everyone this season and be safe!!

Jeff took one at 402 and 433 last year with my 275's. There will be an effective range limit with the 275's. Heavier bullets sometimes retain more energy and downrange velocity than lighter bullets. Make sure your bullet choice has enough energy on impact for a clean harvest. Some say 1000 foot pounds is the majic number, others say 800 plus. Good luck this hunting season!

Thanks,Kyle. If me applied ballistic app is right with the 275 at 2930 it's still got way more than that well past 400.
