All I can say is WOW! I went to the range today prepared to complete installation and tall target testing on the new scope. After completing installation using a previously described method and instruments, I noticed that I had left my socket and ratchet for breech plug removal at home. That being said, I did not "poor boy boresight" it. A large 3ft target at 50 yards served to get it on paper. I was amazed to see that with the scope centered with the dials on zero, that I was dead on windage and 15moa high at 50 yards. 1 complete turn of the elevation and it was dead on at 200 yards (Partly due to my 20moa base). That is the first time ever that both dials were set to zero upon installation and held a 200 yard zero. I need to buy a lottery ticket. LOL
I hung a plumb bob string at 125 yards (our range is at 50,125,200 yards). Fired a shot at the bottom target bullseye, which landed 1" high, dialed up 25moa and fired another shot. The second shot landed directly on the line 31.5" north. I calculated 31.25" for 25moa at 125 yards. Done
Moved out to 200 and there was a single target there that someone had left. It had a 1" red dot on a 10" circular background. At full 32x magnification, the tiny black reticle dot looked like a pencil eraser on the 1" dot which was mostly exposed. (Sure am glad I got the lighted reticle for hunting. It would be easily lost without illumination at low light) The 1" high at 125 yards proved to be dead on at 200 yards. Even at max magnification, the edges are not dark at all and the sight picture is super bright and clear.
With a 200 yard zero, WGK and I are ready to try out our new late fall/winter time range at 500 yards and beyond now that the corn has been cut.
