Despite the warm weather this morning, I was able to connect on a doe this morning in Kentucky. A 325 grain AccuMax original core traveling 2940 fps at the muzzle connected with this doe at approximately 60 yards. The shot was quartering away slightly and the exit hole was no larger than a quarter. The deer ran about 15 yards. This was an important field test for Pittman Bullets as the only bullets I had available for testing in the hunting season of 2015/2016 were the 275's. I am very pleased with the performance/ expansion of the 325 at this velocity/ range. My smokeless muzzleloader was built by Jeff Hankins of Hankins Custom Rifles.

congrats Kyle on a good clean kill and some fresh freezer meat! up close at high speed I would think it held together very well. was a terrible weekend with a full moon and very high temps so you did well.
I was hoping to try a 325 out as well but it just didn't work out, had a 140ish 10 @ 329 yds but decided he needs another year, that new Sightron reticle looked great on his side but I just couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger. Might be the best buck I see all year? I still think I did the right thing.

Congrats, Kyle! Your bullets are proving themselves.
It's really warm for October here in Iowa, too. The skeeters just about carried me off yesterday. Are they bad there, too? Supposed to be quite a bit cooler for the rest of the Iowa early season beginning tomorrow. Might take a day or two to get it to you.

Congrats Kyle! Supposed to be in the mid 80's here thru Thursday. Small bucks are pushing doe's but that's it.

Is that a little buck rub on that tree or the sun. Nice fatty.

I believe that is the sun, but I did see several small rubs.

Any pics of entry or exit after you skinned it out?

I didn't take any pics of the processing. I certainly will on the next and post them.

Just took a look at the Ballistic app that I use, at 60 yards the impact velocity is approximately 2790.
