Nice! If you get kids involved and interested, they love to be a part of the process. My 5yo ground up most of ours last year by himself! He got so involved he wouldn't stop till it was all done! Same with gardening and canning. Would be nice if he felt the same way about cleaning up his toys and such. Lol. We package our burger same as yours, in zip locks. They make it quick, easy, and stack good in the freezer to save space.

Deadeye, I also have bags I got from Cabela's that I like but it is almost a two person job. However if I had a sausage stuffer on our grinder it would make things easy. I have done both freezer bags and the Cabela's bags. Freezer bags are easier. Today we are cutting up two pork shoulders and grinding them up for summer sausage. I'm hoping one day they can join me out west to hunt mule deer. They love helping and my 13 year old was just saying he's so excited to get a deer this year. Going to be a great fall.

I see you have a #32 grinder. I have one too. Does yours have a speed brake? We don't stuff from our grinder because we add 1/3 ground pork butt to our venison for making sausage and summer sausage. We use a 15 pound mixer and a 15 pound stuffer. It works quite well. We grind all of the venison, then all of the pork, and then weigh it out 10 pounds of venison and 5 pounds of pork into the mixer. We stuff it into 2 pound bags similar to the ones most processing businesses use. The bags are about 2.25" round and are perfect when making patties for the skillet. Just thaw it a little and cut it with a knife. That little fella sure is having a good time.

Scat, my dad made that grinder and it has no break. This thing runs at 100mph and will grind garden hoses if you don't pay attention. I ground and froze 14 pounds of pork butt for a later date to mix with antelope and deer meat for summer sausage. In the next few weeks I'll tackle that task. Ryder, my little boy, is a hoot and very active. When it's just him and me he does really well, throw the rest of the family in and well Ryder is Ryder. He did really well that morning helping and he loves to help. Yesterday we finally was able to go set trail cameras on a piece of public. He has a great tone and we saw lots of birds no deer. Saw a covey of quail which was pretty cool. I was going to do 50/50 for summer sausage but i may cut back on that now that I've seen several say 1/3 or so. I've asked for an electric grinder for Xmas this year that grinder is very difficult to carry around the house. I'm tired of running to my dad's to get it to borrow. Already one deer in freezer could end up with 2-4 more before it's over.

That kid reminds me of one of my nephews, even looks about the same. (only about 25 years ago) He was half wild and not afraid of man or beast. Most people didnt take to him, and were half afraid of what might come next. I used to take him fishing and shooting, so he liked me, and was always respectful. But there WAS a few people who didnt like him, so, he hated them back, and the little spitefull bugger would always come out on top. He didnt even care if he got a whoopin. If he did something he knew deserved a whoopin, he just went ahead and did what he wanted, then he would come home and tell on himself, and just expect it, like he just wanted to get it over with. He was younger brother, so I guess he grew up tough. By the time he was about that kids size, his older brother and his troop knew better that to pick on him anymore. Even if you beat him, he would be back the next day for more, with a stick if he thought he needed it. I always liked him I think for those reasons, and he knew it. They moved away when he was mid teens, so I didnt see him for a stretch. He moved back into the area a while back on his own, and still comes around to see me every so often. Still half wild and hard headed, but just a BIT more grown up now. Maybe reminds me of myself a lot
