I was just at the Buffalo Gun Center, Harlem Road in Buffalo N.Y. and they do still have some 4759 available. They have both 1 lb'ers and they also have 1 8lb'er left. $22.00 for 1lb or $170.00 for the 8lb. I did ask and they WILL NOT SHIP the powder.... Just passing the info along incase anyone is near Buffalo........ Rich

I've never shot the venerable load of 10/50 4759/4198 with sabots but could never get that duplex combo to work sabotless...with hornady's anyway. Went a little hotter on the dup with 10/50 blue dot/14198 and bingo. I'm wondering if that load, 4759/4198 works best with sabot'd loads??

That was a sabot load Steve! Probably why I couldn't get it to work.

I have shot the 10/50 combo with 275 Match Hunters in a .45 sabotless and they shot well. I did that because it fairly duplicated some Blackhorn loads that had been developed for the rifle. Now the Match Hunter was nearly a perfect fit on a clean Douglas barrel, a bit tight after it was fouled.

The 10/50 duplex shoots great sabotless in my McGowen with the 250ftx.

The 10/50 duplex shoots great sabotless in my McGowen with the 250ftx. Must've been my sizing, cause I couldn't get nothing but the dreaded keyhole.
