The new box of bullets may have a slightly tougher jacket and make the difference. If you don't have or don't want to use wads upping the powder charge might work also.

Have shot a lot of the 250FTX in my McGowen using a 10/50 duplex 4759/4198 with a wool wad. I have used light loading pressure and hard to load with no key holeing.

Just curious about something would 2 .030 wads help build pressure better than 1 .060 wad ? Or would it create same outcome ?

Myself and Herman have had this happen and it was generally attributed to loose sizing and not enough "giddyup/go" under it.

Richard, going to up the charge a bit, also it was the same loading, loose, medium , and even tighter, key holed on all. just ordered some wads, to try. also some other bullets to try. and a booster to try, will let everyone know later, thanks to all..

All the dot varieties will work, in the right quantities as they all get hotter. 4759 is a good tried and true booster but being phased out and N110 should work good as well. If you find some of those others let me or someone on the board know and we'll provide you with some known loads.
