Think I posted the first one on the wrong board? ? Hello everyone! Hope everyone is doing well! It's been a while since I've checked the board. Damn work been getting in the way of fun. I was checking the dates for the next challange. I came across this Florida rule at www.muzzle-loaders.com/articles/muzzleloader-regulations-by-state/#flor“The legal types of guns for use during the muzzleloading gun season use black powder or a non-nitro-cellulose substitute and are fired by wheel lock, flintlock or percussion cap ignition (including 209 primers). Muzzleloaders using smokeless powder, those that can be loaded from the breech or those with self-contained cartridge ammunition capabilities are not legal during this period. Shotgun or 209 type primers are considered percussion caps and are legal to use.” I cannot find anything on the FWC site other than: myfwc.com/hunting/regulations/taking-game/ Hunting deer with a muzzleloader: Muzzleloading guns firing single bullets must be at least .40-caliber. Muzzleloading guns firing two or more balls must be 20-gauge or larger. Anyone else have any first hand information on this subject? Thanks in advance! Wayne

If you asking if you can use smokeless during ML season in Florida, the last time i checked you can not. Even BH209 is technically not legal since it contains nitrate esters.

Yes, I wanted to know if I could use the SPML. Guess I never did ask that question just posted what I found. "It's Always Something".
I could not find info on the FWC site other than:
Hunting deer with a muzzleloader: Muzzleloading guns firing single bullets must be at least .40-caliber. Muzzleloading guns firing two or more balls must be 20-gauge or larger.

WRONG....the nitrocellulose base powder exclusion was deleted a year ago....I was a smoker until last year when it was COMPLETELY legal to use SML during ML season...THANK GOD....I hate subs...
OUTCAST you are good to go as the only restriction is what you found as being a .40 cal minimum.....I live in Pensacola and watched you kick our butt in Kentucky, Allan.....

I was told by a Florida res that the law changed a few years ago and that you could use a SML in Florida now. Allen Towe hunts Eglin AFB and he uses his SML on the base. Of course the base may have a different reg then the rest of the state.

Thanks for clearing it up!
Good to hear from you Hillbill! I am trying to make arrangements to come to the shoot, won't know for a couple weeks though. Learned a great deal last year and had a great time, sure there is a lot more to learn.

Found this in their 2016-17 regs page 19
M "Must have $5 Muzzleloading Gun Season Permit
as well as hunting license. The only muzzleloaders
that can be used during Muzzleloading Gun
Season are those that are fired by wheel lock,
flintlock, percussion cap or centerfire primer
(including 209 primers). Muzzleloaders that can
be loaded from the breech are not legal during
Muzzleloading Gun Season"
