Looks to be a good design? Eliminating the sabot is a big asset. Up until this bullet, there was not much in the way of .50 bullets capable of shooting sabotless........at least with smokeless powder. The powerbelts only seemed to work for BP.

Got a sample pack of thor bullets..503 has most resistance but doesn't take more than 10lbs. pressure to push it down the bore..500 falls all the way down,.501 about the same .502 is exact land to land size. I know they offer other size bullets, but I'm not sure if I want to endure any more headaches with this savage ml.Might just get rid of it and have my 45-70 apex converted.

Knurl up a 50-300gr FTX.
Smokeless will likely blow the skirt right off the FPB unless you keep the charge very low. Its only copper plated like a Rainier bullet.

Sure, its made for 500S&W. Guys are shooting them over 2300fps in 500S&W rifles. I shot a nice doe with one at around 1900fps.

No, i shot mine from a 54cal in a 54x50 sabot with 120gr of BH209. I know of a couple people shooting them with BH209 sabotless. I see no reason they would not work in the Savage. The few 500S&W rifle barrels ive seen have been 1-20 to 1-24 twists
