After seeing Hanks picks with the apex , and 3031 I'm wondering if there is an advantage to 3031 in those break opens vs the faster 4198 ?

3031 has an advantage in the longer tubes, I have never shot it in anything under 26" but I will try it soon in a 23"

I used the 3031 because you can use a little more weigh, giving you more volume. With the 4198 the ram rods that are attached to the gun have to be pushed all the way down to seat the bullet. I was trying this load to see how it would perform so you could use a ram rod and still have enough of it sticking out of the barrel to be able to pull it back out. That gun did not have a ram rod but many I convert do. This also stands true for the Encore conversions.

Jeff, were you able to take any measurements, or otherwise determine if there would be enough ramrod sticking out of the Apex barrel with the 3031?
Thanks, YB
