I have some serious empathy for you on the poor thing at the moment. My billfold is not only on empty it's been set on vacuumn for the last cpl months.
I have not used the stocks you posted but a couple quick thoughts for you. The boyds stock can have the mag well filled with a multitude of "things" easy enough and then bedded over. I don't know your skill set but I am nearly certain you can bed your own gun and do a wonderful job. Pillars are for sure a wonderful addition for accuracy. Again I believe you could install a set properly. Even though the choate stocks come with an aluminum bedding system I would be bedding the action as well. I have never seen them personally but they would almost certainly benefit from bedding in addition.

The mention of Boyds brings up another question. Boyds offers MLII specific stocks AND they do offer them in 4.27 spacing which they call a MLII short.
So does the MLII specific stock have the mag well cutout or not? EABCO sells the perfect stock for me EXCEPT they are only available in 4.40. Its already pillared and has a nicer recoil pad than the standard Boyds. They are only about $170. After checking it appears Keystone only makes Savage model 10 stocks in 4.40.
It really sucks i sold my MLII laminate 4.40 large shank instead of converting it.

I have a Choate sniper stock as I recall. I had it mostly to interchange various Savage MLs to test. Never got around to doing that with the stock. It just sits there, nothing wrong from the stock's perspective, just didn't do it. It is heavy and the "checkering" as I recall quite sharp. For what I had intended to use it that would not have been a problem, not a carry stock IMO.

Check out Stockys Stocks, they have some stocks in stock that will fit the 4.27 action.

The top 2 stocks i posted don't use the factory trigger guard so im wondering if they require using a proprietary rear action screw. This of course creates a problem if used with a MLII.

I do not recall. I will try to check if I get an opportunity. I have a variety of longer screws so that normally is not a problem.

I called Choate and asked about the action screws. The stocks come with them and i was told the OEM action screws will not work BUT the lady i talked to said she is not familiar with the MLII. She asked if i could call back after lunch and talk to Sam the smith.
