I am getting ready to order a Krieger barrel blank. I see standard and a wide land rifling offered in a .450/.458. Which is recommended? Heavy varmint taper 1.250/.900 29" finish at 28". Twist 1/20. Thoughts, suggestions welcome.

Kyle, yes your right, when done at krieger, the blank is 1.25, they will send it to bullerry barrel works and they will turn it to 1, and weld the lug on.. and finish.. then to jeff for the H I S, plug..

Yes, my last barrel for my oncore, you and jeff did the break open video, and it was the last one shot on camera, that 1 came from bullberry.. when I get this 1 done for grandson, going to have jeff build me 1 like yours.. I like the looks of your build, hopefully I'll make The K.C. in august..

Come on down and bring the grandson too. It's a good time. Several others planning on bringing their sons/daughters. My daughters and wife should make the August shoot. Good clean fun!

Thanks for the reply. I read that the wide lands were for lead cast bullets to minimize lead fouling. I wandered if it would be beneficial with our land riders. Curious as to what Jeff usually orders. I would recommend regular width rifling

I have ordered them both ways and can't tell a difference in the way they shoot.,,, but I will tell you that at this time I will only be using Brux barrels unless my customer want a Krieger...... They just shoot too dang good
