Lost my best friend a couple days ago. I didn't realize it till he was gone, never thought about it. He was a deer hunter but more for everybody else. One of those guys who shove a couple mt. dews in his coat pocket go sit on the sunny side of a tree all day long and not see anything.( wonder why) One of the strongest men I ever saw in real life. Never turned anyone down in need. Stubborn as could be and could really get mad I know, I spent a lifetime doing it. It was my younger brother badly took for granted. His only fault was pride . He had had to heart attacks and was to proud to give in and slow down.Livestock farmin and a full time job in town . Drove himself home from work had his wife drive him to the hospital cause he wasn't the kind to be carried in to the hospital. The only reason I have to post this is I know we have more than our share of proud here and wanted some people to have sometime to make up there minds how they are going to handle the same situation if it comes along. Sometimes there is a fine line between sick and dead and no room for pride in between. Granted I probably would have done the same thing without really having time to think it over. All I ask is think it over think about what you stand to loose and don't take pointless risk.

My sincere condolences for the loss of your brother.
Yes, as we all age it becomes increasingly important to reflect on one's physical health condition and know what one's limits are. It's also important to be cognizant of a health emergency contingency plan when on fishing, hunting, work activities. Even when just sitting at home relaxing, know who to call when help is needed.

Don't know how I missed this post before, but so sorry for your loss. Your brother apparently was a great man, sadly, they often seem to be the ones taken from us way too soon. I hope you may find some comfort reflecting on all the good times you shared with him, and knowing that he will always be with you.
I lost my dad in much the same way, he was too stubborn to go see a Dr.
