I have used the standard RCBS hand primer in the past, no issues al all, I acquired a Redding Boss that includes a primer arm and primer catcher, anyone else use a single stage press for priming the HIS Primer modules?? I was out of the game for several years and bought another rcbs hand primer from amazon but thinking the single primer arm or the after market primer feeder for the Boss will be ok and I can send the RCBS back. I dought I will shoot more than 20 rounds in any range outing also.

I also got one of jeff's sizing dies and use that to size bullets, all using the same single stage press. It has been working well for me. I don't target shoot for fun. I'm primarily a hunter and I only use the range for sight in and fouling and such. I have enough modules, that I wait until the end of the hunting season to clean my muzzleloader, deprime all the modules I used during the year, clean them all in an ultra sonic cleaner, prime them for the next year, and size enough bullets for the next year. It is pretty quick using it this way since I only need to set it up once for each operation.

Best one on the market in my opinion is the Gen 3 Super Precision Click Head Bench Rest Priming Tool by 21st Century Innovation. This allows for a micro adjust seating depth on the primer. Very slick tool.

I would have to agree with Kyle even though I don’t own one I also use a RCBS universal for HIS modules I use my Ultramag for direct ignition modules
A word of warning when priming Saturday before last I was priming some new modules for a build I was setting up. The Gentleman was there watching the process About half way through I had a primer go off when I seated it, scared the crap out of me and Him as well. Upon inspection the bottom of the primer was still flat as a pancake, my index finger was bleeding from primer particles and a little burned.
Lesson learned, from now on I will have a glove on my left hand. Literally thousands of primers over the years but that was a first for me.

I’m still using the RCBS that I bought 20 years ago.
If I was going to replace it, it would be with a 21st Century. Nice quality built tool.
If you decide to get one, just a word of caution. You can over adjust your setting depth that will cause miss fires.

I have loaded thousands of primers for both CF and SML with a RCBS hand priming tool with no problems. You will be paying about twice as much for the 21st. century plus $15 a pop for their case holders and it is single feed. I have recently gotten a Lee bench model primer seater and have designed a "stop" for the charging handle that allows me to adjust seating depth. Works pretty good. I am using it mainly for seating primers in .223 cases.
