Since the Barrel is LW50 steel, has anyone tried smokeless conversion(s) to the Ultimate Muzzy?

What do you mean by smokeless conversion? Replacing the barrel? Replacing the ignition system? Both?

This is info from Ultimate Firearms web page- "This rifle should NEVER be fired with smokeless powder. The Johnston Muzzleloader is NOT a smokeless muzzleloader like the Savage muzzleloader and the Bad Bull muzzleloader. This is an overbuilt firearm built with safety in mind."

I saw the same information. And the Johnston is only sold in 50 caliber, according to their website. Didn't see any prices listed, their ballistic specs are not all that impressive either. A 300 grain bullet at 2,400 fps. Even my break action build has 100fps on that load. In my bolt gun I'm beating that by 500 fps, and could go even faster if I wished to burn a different powder and use a heavier charge. But yes, it specifically says NO smokeless. I'm sure it could be converted to a 45 caliber SML barrel and a better ignition system. For a cost of course.
