So after selling my Knight Disc rifle many years ago, I have reaquired it! I killed a pile of deer with it before going to a Savage. I sold the Knight for $200 cause a guy in camp needed something to hunt with. He's a lefty and after a few years he got a break barrel gun and sideline my old Knight. Last week he approached me and offered it back to me and I took it. I ordered a straight stock for it because it had a very awkward "sloped" stock that made it hard to shoot at the bench. I mounted a 3 x 9 Leupold scope and she is ready to go. I have tons of various projectiles from yesteryear that I can use. XTP's in different weights, shockwaves including bonded type, Various hardcasts, and of course a wide variety of .458 bullets I currently use in the Savage. But....I need blackpowder and I refuse to try $160 per lb BH209. And I dislike all other subs that are out there. I ordered 4 lbs of Graf & Son's Classic FFg. I always used to use Goex but can't find it anywhere. Anyone have any experience with the Graf's stuff? Can't wait to get this old gun back in service. Always shot extremely well. It uses the orange discs.

I would update it to the bare primer breechplug to eliminate blowback. It requires an Extreme Bolt. It might require shimming also as my DISC Original is 0.022" longer than my DISC Elites which are within 0.001" of each other.

.50 cal. My question was about Graf's Powder quality. The gun will remain un-altered.

Ask over on Modern Muzzleloader as there is a lot more BP traffic over there.

Sir I have used it for several years now .But mostly with Muzzleloader shotguns for hunting and clay birds works great.

It would seem black powder is black powder. Just always used Goex but could not find any. Will be doing some shooting soon. Was going to today but the weather is crappy.

I think Graffs is just rebranded Schutzen. Its a decent budget powder, the residue is a bit more gummy than goex.
