Question was asked over at Modern Muzzleloader if any builders ever considered a build from one of their bolt actions. There sure are some beautiful examples. Could it be a consideration since 700's have become so scarce?

Never seen a bolt Austin Halleck, but, Rem is making and selling long range caliber rifles again. I saw a add a few weeks ago.

Looks like they've been out of business for a while too...
I suppose if you find one it could possibly be done. Looks like there are no locking lugs on the bolt. Probably not the best starting point. JMHO

We had an A & H in camp 20 years ago right before savages. It was beautiful. However, it was flawed. Maybe a one off. Gun would not shoot. It was real bad. After much testing and figuring things out the problem was found. When the front sight holes were drilled they went too deep and there was a very slight dimple inside the bore. Not enough to feel when seating but there never the less. Guy sold it and then Savages came a long.
