My boy is becoming a really good hunter. He is 5 for 5 iirc. No nerves, great patience, excellent stamina waiting them out. He got this nice nanny at 90yds quartering to us on a food plot. She made it about 30yds max, painting a river. I let him trail it up, even tho I seen her go down. I moved him up to a 7-08 from the 243. The blood trails were a little thin, so we upped the caliber a little, and it doesnt disappoint. He is really growing up too. Just turned 13yo, and is 6'2" 255#!!!

And with your boy's physical size, get him in the weight room to be ready for the upcoming football season.

Just glad to hear he's helping fill the freezer instead of emptying it. LOL
Congrats!

There ya go! Increase strength, quickness, speed and technique, guard against injuries (especially knees) get performance recognized for "all-conference", all-district, all-state, high-school all-american, earning that $400,000 free-ride to a top football program at a top university! Reality is made up of dreams..... discipline, drive, will-power, competitive spirit and the smarts to put it all together. Best of luck to your boy in whatever he chooses to do.

My youngest brother had some nerves with his first deer(to be fair I think he was maybe 11 yrs old). After that, the kid was a stone cold killer. No misses, no nerves(at least externally), and quite frankly he outdid us all. He had a little more help than we did early on, but he really ran with it. Really looks like your son is the same way. Also looks like he may work his way through college on the football field.

Luckily, 2 neighbors got my interest sparked and took me hunting. I didnt do very good, but then my best friends dad got involved at taught us right. Now here we are. A couple of hunting machines! We look back and think how we could have been wannabe's like so many others we know if it wasnt for him. Lol
