My 45 forearm is not center to the barrel and is hitting on one side . I can slide a piece of paper under the barrel when holding it up right but if catches under the scope bell when it’s setting on a bipod. This gun is very finicky. I have a 35 whelen in the same gun and it shoots everything 1/2” and is not finicky at all but the forearm is square and paper never touches. Is there any way to manipulate the forearm so it doesn’t rest on the barrel?

For very similar situations, I have taken a dowel slightly smaller in diameter to the barrel channel, wrapped it in sandpaper, and sanding on the offending side in a back and forth motion.

Just got my dremel and 220 grit sandpaper and did just a little at a time until it will clear a doubled up piece of paper under the barrel. Can’t ever be good hitting on one side or the other and only doing it with different pressure on the fore end. I’ve read allot of post about people having trouble shooting these consistently and if I had to guess that’s why.
