I’ve had it for a year or so and I’m just now getting around to play with it a little more seriously. I’m wanting to shoot it in the factory class in some local 22 rim fire matches. The gun must be all factory other than you can change out the trigger, a bedding job, recown the barrel and it must be under a MSRP of $1250.00. I did some testing and the best I could get it down to was 2 bullet hole touching at 50 yards. That’s not going to get me anywhere in this game. I removed the factory trigger and installed a Jewells trigger at 8 oz and still the same result. I played with torque setting starting at 15 inch pounds and worked my way up to 45 inch pounds and the higher I got the worse the groups got after 30 inches. I pulled the action from the stock and found that they painted the entire stock including the aluminum bedding block. I sanded all the paint off were the action would touch the stock and I bedded the rear, front and recoil lug area only. I will start my testing all over again to see if the new bedding has help in shrinking my group size. Hopefully I can get it down one hole at 50 yards. I’ll start my testing after the KY Challenge.

With every gun I have built that had some type of aluminum bedding block? I have completely Marine-Tex bedded over it. The aluminum gets severely roughed up to promote good adhesion! Nothing can match bedding for a perfect fit.

Hopefully the bedding job makes a big difference. Are you running a tuner on that as well?

Hopefully the bedding job makes a big difference. Are you running a tuner on that as well? gd I had a tuner on it but I took it off because in ARA factory class tuner are not allowed but it shot great with one.

I've been kicking around putting a tuner on the BMR but a bedding job will be first...

Google "cheap barrel thuner". There is a guy who uses an aluminum collar with a set screw for a few bucks. If it works for you, then you might want to get something more precise!

A little update after my bedding job. I found so time to played around yesterday morning with different torque settings on the action screws. I started at 15/15 inch pounds and worked my way up to 45/45 inch pounds. 15/15 inch pounds looked very promising with a one hole group with 4 shots but the 5th shot was outside the group. Maybe it was me? 20/20 had 5 shots. 25/25 was only 3 shots. 30/30 the group close up a bit with a bit vertical. 35/35 was only a 3 shot group but the 3rd shot was outside the group. 40/40 was a 5 shot group. I’m starting to like it. 45/45 is more what I’m looking for. Before bedding. After bedding. Results from action screw torque test after bedding. I’m planning to shot a 4 card match at my local range on Saturday. It’s a 50 yard ARA sanctioned match. I will be shooting off a bipod and a rear bag for this match. I think I’ll try 45/45 and see what happens. I may try 15/15 if I get some free time after my done shooting my first card. I have 20 minutes to shoot 25 score targets. Lots of sighters on the outside of the target to play around with. If I like what I’m seeing I may try it on the second card. I’ll post my results after I get home.

Sure can't argue with 45/45!

I end up shooting in the unlimited class with my black 2500 gun because a lady’s firing pin broke during her first relay so I let her use my B14R for remaining 5 cards. I gave her the ammo that I tested with. It took her a couple cards to get the gun figured out but her last card was her best with a 2400 out of 2500. She was super excited when she seen her scored target.
I didn’t tell what I was doing to the gun because I want her honest opinion on how it shooting. Here are a list of thing I changed between relays. For the 2nd relay the action screws were torqued at 45/45 inch pounds and the gun was not cleaned before the match. For the 3rd relay the action screws were torqued at 45/45 inch pound and I dry patched the barrel. I also removed the scope from the pic rail and moved it forward one notch to give her more eye relief. For the 4th relay the action screws were torqued at 45/45 and I cleaned the barrel. She said it shot better than the other 2 relays. For the 5th relay the action screws were torqued at 15/15 inch pounds and the barrel was cleaned. She said it was worse than her last card. For her 6th and last card I torqued her action screws at 47/47 inch pounds and cleaned the barrel. She said it shot the best out of the whole day.
More testing…..

Interesting! I played with my CZ when I got it but could not tell much difference. Once I bedded it on the factory nylon pillars, I just keep it at 25/25. With pillar bedded CF and M's, I do not use a torque wrench Just tight , with T handle wrench.
