I’m looking for a good starting point for a load with reloader 16 . Shooting a Remington 700, brux 17 , direct ignition, 29” plus brake, large magnum rifle primers , Pittman 300 accumax . Thanks In advance.

I started at 92 grain personally and ran a 2 shot ladder with 1.250 shank and DI ignition. I believe some pressure traces in here is little harder than I pushed it My 26.5 inch bbl liked 97.5 if I recall with no pressure sign..I know others have ran more with 325’s. Be safe Gary check the traces ..

I tried them with 102 or so? start low and go up, the 300 is a very accurate bullet if you can get that load to burn right.

I didn’t try RL16 with lower weight bullets. I did try it w 325 aeromax. Accuracy was really good. My barrel is 27.5” and I had a 66-70 grain powder chamber. My deviation was 100 fps so I went w a faster powder. Your barrel is longer so it might work great for you. I used higher doses of powder that I shouldn’t post using direct ignition and wlrm primers. PM me if you want my data. Primers didn’t show signs of pressure. Again -your longer barrel might be perfect for this powder.
