Lets start at its a Kit, cost including shipping $713.50. With that out of the way is it worth that price ? NO ! I have est. 18 hours into the kit to finish it. Make no mistake on this kit, they did all the inletting on stock. I had some clean up wood chisel work n so on. Had to polish all brass, barrel came with a poor bluing job. Barrel is 28.5" long, is a .45 cal in a 1-48 twist. Either i read or watched several videos telling that the barrel needed .010 patches for .440 round balls. Either i have a fluke or someone is passing bad info around, mine needs minimum of .015 patch thickness. I have the flintlock model, listen carefully here most would do much better to get a percussion model ! They come with a tiny priming pan, they come with a poorly touch hole of 1/32". You will have many flash in the pan moments. The lock n vent need lots of work n tuning to get it to shoot even close to what it should be. The lock is small uses a 5/8" flint, best get English Black flints for sure. Accuracy once you can get it to fire, is hole cutting group at 25 yards. I have not got to the range since i have finished it. To see what it will do at 50-75 or 100 yards

I just got done comparing my Traditions Woodsman Hawken rifle against the Scout. It just walks all over the Pedersoli made black powder rifles. So a factory made flintlock from Traditions at $500 is a much better product. So there it is a $500 model ready to shoot out of the box! To a Pedersoli kit at $700+, another of lifes learning curves
