I wondered if anyone had put one on their's. I am going to measure the rear sight screws distance, i think its 1 3/8" c to c. Maybe there is a short weaver base that would work

There used to be a (long) scope rail for the Hawken. I sold a Hawken a while back that had one on it with a old (new) Hawken scope. Don't know if you would find one or not. Maybe ask on Modern muzzleloader mb about this.

Maybe ask on Modern muzzleloader mb about this. You are correct #9920, i googled looking for one. Nothing recent showed, i can take rear sight off & put a weaver rail there for my red dot

I have not found a weaver flat base with 1 7/16" hole spacing. So i am going to get a flat base use the front hole n JB weld the other end to the barrel. That should hold the small red dot on secured

I snagged a T/C base mount that will let the pistol scope fit on the Hawkens rear sight holes. So i will mount my red/gn T dot on it. Will take it n my Rock sparker both to rifle range after this heat wave passes.

I got the scope base today. Of course it fits the adapter with 3 holes. It also has an extra hole drilled n fits my rear sight screw holes. The screws that came with it are to big at 6-32 The screws i took off from sight one was boogered, but flat headed won't work. Must be something in the 4-40/4-48 pitch thread. Will have to go to hardware store to get some that fit

Ok happy happy, went to Paducah n picked up couple 4-48 screws that fit. Got home cleaned them with denatured alcohol. Dried them, put blue loctite on them, installed base on the barrel. Put the red/gn. dot on the mount. Now its wait time on my eyes. Have my 2nd cataract surgery on the 27th at 6:15 am. So maybe middle of July i can go do some load work. I have some .440 n .445 rbs, plenty of 200 gr REAL conicals. I will get the red dot on paper at 25 yds n centered. Think i will start off with a 45 gr load of Triple 7 3f with rbs. See what it likes on powder charge n group size.

Well no matter how a person plans for things to go, times just don't gee haw. I had ordered a short bullet starter in a .45, plus 2 extra loading tips, also in .45. Was shipped on the 17th of June for Ky. USPS decided to send them to NJ as they arrived on 22nd. Then they just kept moving from one Dist. warehouse to another til July 3rd. Finally got it this day, holes all over the shipping bag. Looked like it had been shot with a shotgun. I opened it up my items were still enclosed. USPS sucks ! My order store sent me .50 cal loading tips, i ordered .45, i have couple .50 cal stuff on hand. So this whole mess ends up a mess. Seems like you can not order anything anymore with this last few Generations in the work force

Strange stuff befalls me through life. I ordered a Range-rod several nipples a Powder horn for my Flintlock n few other items from Track of the Wolf out of Elk River, Mn. They shipped on July 28th, made it to Hodgkins, IL. on morning 29th. Then i got a notice they would deliver on Tues. 2nd Aug. by 7 pm. Order nor UPS driver never showed. Today i get notice that my order is in Pocatello, ID. They said my next attemp for delivery will be on Aug. 9th by 7 pm. So judging by their track record with me here ! It may just go to Dallas , Tx. next

Morning n latest update on the order. UPS says preparing for delivery. Its been sitting at Paducah Hub since 3.49 am Sat. morning. They just did not want to deliver to me, i saw lots of Brown UPS trucks go by on their daily routes. I will be going to the Golden Pond shooting range early friday morning. Taking the Hawken, the .45 sml, the Scout .45 flintlock n the Traditions Woodsman Hawken .50 flintlock

Well now more pitfalls of my own doing n so on. I forgot my 12 pt. wrench to unscrew DI modules, so only one shot. I also forgot my Rangerod, but each ML i had had its own in the thimbles. So after the failed .45 sml, i got out the .45 Hawken with its red/gn dot. Took several shots to walk it up to target dot, but i hit the dot center at 25 yards. I took both the sml n Hawken back to my car n locked them up in the turtle hull. Now i will go to the Flintlock Thread

I had better tell about the HB Blue n crush rib sabots n the .40 xtp 200. Neither one would allow me to start well. I was able to get crush rib n xtp out by rocking it back n forth. HB was diff as i tried hard using short starter to load. I did get my small channel lock with a good bite n got it up n out. I shot 200 gr REAL bullets i cast with 50 gr of 3 f Goex
