Well after seeing a bunch of coyotes on trail camera only after dark it was time to hunt them at night. So I bought a Sightmark HD 4x32x50 Wraith day/night scope and put it on my 6mm Dasher which I cut down so it would fit into a varmint stock.
I read and watched a lot of youtube videos on this scope and from what I saw it was easy to use and it performed really well for a dual purpose scope. I liked the idea of being able to use it as a regular scope in the daytime and then switch to night vision. It has a ton of really nice features from recording your hunt to switch to different reticle styles and colors and even different calibers and loads if you switch it to another gun.
The optical clarity is really good in the day time and being able to zoom from 4 power all the way up to 32 power is amazing. For night time 4 to 8 power even 12 power works really well at night. The darker the better you would be amazed at the definition it has at 200 yards it will go out past 200 yards pretty easily but where I hunt the fields are only 200 yards across so this will be deadly. The IR Illuminator only shines a beam that the scope can see which is great.
The scope is made to mount on a scope rail not individual bases when you use it on a AR style rifle you can adjust the stock so you can get closer to the objective to see the full display screen but when you mount it on a bolt action rifle it becomes a problem. Sightmark makes a long action scope mount to correct this problem it only cost $40.00 bucks but the big problem is they have been totally sold out in the USA for quite some time So I had to machine my own extended base so that was the only problem I ran into. Also you need to buy rechargeable AA batteries and a charger for the scope it takes (4) AA They will last for hours and the scope can be shut off and started backup by just one touch of a button.
This is not a light scope its all metal it's built like a tank and weighs around 44 ounces with the new scope rail and ILL light. But for $499.95 its a really good buy if you want to hunt varmints.
I also bought a ICO-Tech Outlaw electronic caller I should get that today had to choose between that and the Fox Pro both good callers. The Fox Pro was over 100 bucks more and had way more calls on their that I was not interested in so I went with the ICO-Tech
