Well had a strong finish for the year. I shot a 5.8 inch group with a 98 score. Good enough to win relay for score not for group. I used the 105gr JLK'S and in the shoot off I used 105gr Berger's I had loaded from match six. Came in third for score in shoot off with a 91 and a 8.6 group. Conditions were good during the day but by the time for the shoot off the sun came out and the wind started to blow the mirage was bad. Hey you have to learn to deal with it.
For the year I really did well. I won the following
1st place Heavy Gun Group 1st place Heavy Gun Score 1st place Two Gun Score 1st place Two Gun Overall Winners List 1st place Shooter of the year in Heavy Gun
Light gun not to good. I stayed in the top 7 but match six completely not me out of the running.
The 6mm dasher was the dominate cartridge to beat in both light and heavy gun class. It's a super accurate little cartridge with light recoil and excellent bullets really makes the difference at 1,000 yards.

Thanks I will say this it takes a lot of time and effort and money to get to this level but luck has a lot to do with what relay you draw to shoot in and more importantly what bench you get to shoot from in that relay. Most of the winning groups and high scores this year came from benches 1-6 the upper end of the range was not the place to be this year. We have a few wind flags down range and we also have wind mills in front of each bench and they all point in different directions at the same time. They say our range is the hard 1,000 yard range to shoot on because of the crazy wind patterns I have to agree with that.
There are a lot of good guns and shooters at our club that can win but if you keep getting lousy relays that prevent you from shooting small groups and high scores you simply can't place high enough to win. That's been some of my problems in the past but not all. This year I had really good relays and really good 6mm bullets which is probably the most important component there is to shooting long distance groups. Its amazing how well these little 6mm's buck the wind, The more stable and the less yaw a bullet has in flight the less wind drift and dispersion it will have.
I hope next year will be a repeat of this season all 3 of my Dashers are really shooting well it will all come down to relays and conditions.
