Well conditions were as good as there going to get this time of year. I tested my 300WSM with Berger 208gr hybrids. I had these loaded for several weeks so I thought I should shoot them up. This 300WSM has a 5r Mullerworks barrel that has been shooting really well and it didn't disappoint me this morning producing a 5 1/2 inch 10 shot group very nice round group.
The 6mm Dasher didn't shoot as well as it could. The 103gr VT shot 7 inches all vertical. 7 shots were really small but I had 3 low shots that were all side by side but low out of the main group. The cases have been fired a lot and I thinking there at the end of the accuracy life cycle. I also shot Berger 105gr VLD they also shot 7 inches not a lot of vertical two shots moved off to the right which opened the group up . Then I tested 107gr SMK I did every kind of check I can on the Sierra's and like I said you always get a ood ball or two at 1000 yards. 7 shots were in 2 1/2 inches but 2 shots were really high out of the group and 1 really low very discouraging to say the least this is why you don't see anybody on our range shooting Sierra's in competition.
Since I am running out of time to do more testing with the Dasher I will probably shoot my 300wsm both of those are shooting consistently 5&6 inch groups. My goal for now is to score high and shoot decent groups the 300wsm will do that.

Well here is a update on the Dashers. The new lot of H4895 is 20 fps slower in my Dasher compared to my old lot of powder. Which doesn't sound like much but in a Dasher case it is a big deal. And the fact that the new bullets are smaller in diameter can also cause a loss in velocity. I did find a lower node that shot well at 2940fps but that is a 100fps slower than what I had been shooting.
When I first tested my old accuracy load that gave me 3,040fps it didn't group well at 1k so I thought I needed to slow things down in reality what I needed to do was increase the powder charge to get me back up to the high end node. some times you have a brain fart and don't do the right thing.
last night I tested at 1k it was mint conditions my light gun went back to shooting small groups. I shot a 4.9 inch 10 shot group which is very good. My heavy gun also needed more powder I shot a 4.4 inch group but that was with the Berger 105gr VLD bullets I believe the 103gr VT will shoot just as good but I wanted to test the Berger's again.

Sounds like promising results! Curious, does anyone use Lapua bullets in the competitions you participate in? Years back I purchased about 1,500 of their 139 grain Scenar in 0.264". They shot well in my rifle, but I never put them on paper past 500 yards.

Don't know of anyone shooting Lapua bullets in 6mm or 6.5. We only have around 3 shooters running a 6.5 and they use Berger bullets. The Lapua 6mm bullets were really small in diameter and they didn't shoot well in any .237 bore barrel they needed a tight .236 the also had less BC than the Berger's and Sierra's of the day.
1,000 yard benchrest shooters are strange bunch we always try the latest and great new bullet to come along but always seem to fall back on what has proven to be the best. For right now the 6mm 103gr Vapor Trail hand pulled bullets are the best you can buy, After that there are some others that come close. The new JLK bullets and the Bart's and Precision bullets made in Nevada are very good after that Berger tops the list for production bullets.
