Now that I got this Brux barrel sorted out and feeling good about it I decided to drop test the BOMBs again. After verifying the Bushnell LRHS on a tall target test last week I swapped it over to the SML for torture testing. Today was 72°F and breezy, great day for shooting. I had 4 of the Bad Bull version of the 275 Parker BE so I used them to get the new optic zeroed. First round was a half mil low and half mil left. I made a correction and shot the next three (far left). I loaded up and shot three of the 316gn BOMB to establish POI (middle), then shot a 300gn BOMB to establish off-set if any (right): The 316gn bullet was .5 MOA low and the 300gn bullet was 1.5 low. At 302yds I shot 3 of each, measued drop, subtracted off-set, and calculated come-ups in MOA. I was on track for two, sub-half minute groups but missed a wind call (I get a lot of swirl on the last 1/3 of the range): 316gn bullets were cruising at 2622fps and 300gn bullets at 2685fps. It was really sunny and breezy today and I got some bigger ES numbers than I usually get so I am going to try this again later in the week toward dark and stretch it out to 500yds if nobody in on the range. I still need to shoot them further but I'm running a G1 BC in the .4s and was off by .1MoA on drop at 300yds.

hard to beat those groups. Great shooting, that pesky winds is a pain in the neck. I think the BOMBS can shoot with any bullets out there. Great job

I cannot say for certain but I think most guys at the KY Challenge shoot Parker bullets. I saw one, 100yds groups smaller than what I shot today and one, 300yds groups smaller than the one I shot today and the same person did not own both of those groups in that KY Challenge. Not saying I would have won, but I could stand a good chance if I could make it work with my schedule but I already know I will miss it again this year. The only match I'll be shooting any time soon is the Mammoth match in January then I will be gone the rest of the spring.

No worries, Bill. I just needed to get out and shoot some 300gn bullets from this batch so that I could make sure they were straight before I post them for sale this weekend (guys, don't worry if you already claimed some, yours will ship first). There are also some 340gn and 415gn bullets going out for testing this weekend.

Keith, Excellent!!! All smooth landriders? Great shooting and great bullet/rifle performance. Still no bolt from PTG Mike Thanks, Mike. All full formed, 2 passes through the die. We called PT&G today: 5 weeks out they say. That would have been great info at time of order. Instead at order it was supposed to ship in a week. I may come snag the one that is done and the AR upper in the next week or two of you are free. Need any more bullets?

Good job and great shooting...Where and how can I get some 316's..? What jacket are running with them...? I have a ff die ,but the indexing part of loading is turning me towards the smooth sizing route....IMO your bullets are going to be the favorite here and Old Bob is going to have to go back to the drawing board....

Keith has anybody shot them with sabots? No, not to my knowledge. I sold my NULA earlier this year.

Thanks for the compliment. The 316gn bullets are left over blems from when I first got the dies, the core seat punch was wrong, and kept sticking bullets in the die. I could make some if there was interest but the vast majority of guys voted for 300gn. Right now 340gn is the next going out for testing but if enough guys wanted 316gn I could make a run. They are made with a full length jacket and the 300gn is not; the shorter jacket makes a more uniform and consistent ogive. The jackets are .029" at the base and taper to .019" at the meplat.

Keith I want to try some of the 300's when you get them up for sale. After I fill the orders that have already been placed I will post what is left. I will have a final count and post it on Sunday. I think there will be about 1000 up for grabs on this run. I've got a website getting re-worked that will post a running inventory and will allow for guys to order without the hassle of trying to coordinate through PM, e-mail, or by phone (although I'm available through all three).
