This years Kentucky Challenge shoot will be on Saturday August 8th.
Range will open on August 3rd for open shooting.
Since we were not able to have the spring shoot I have decided to open the range on Monday August 3rd for anyone that wants to come early and spend a week at the range. The first day (Monday) will be spent mowing the grass, cleaning up from the high waters and setting up new targets. So anyone that comes on Monday should be prepared to do some of the work so we can get the range open. Once the grass is mowed and we have everything set up I will open the range for shooting. We can shoot some everyday, however the shooting hours will be limited as I do not want to have the neighbors complaining, so with this, The range will be open several hours a day but not from day light to dark. I will make sure that everyone that comes early in the week gets plenty of range time.
You can bring anything you want to shoot, High power rifles, AR15's, pistols and shotguns will be welcome. So lets make some noise for a few days.
Those that show up on Monday to do the clean up work will get free entry for the shoot, those that show up on Tuesday or later in the week will be required to pay the regular cost of the Shoot for the weekend of $100.00
All those that show up early will need to bring food and drinks. I am sure we will have a good time and have plenty to eat. We have the grill to cook on and plenty of clean drinking water and we now have the bathroom with hot water and shower, Bring your own towels and soap.
There is plenty of room for camping if you want and we can make room for a few campers also. The evergreen hotel in Cynthiana Ky. should have some rooms available to anyone that wants to stay there.
I thought I would offer this week long Rendezvous as we did not get to do the spring shoot and many of you may have missed out on your regular vacations because of this Covid 19 pandemic
You are welcome to bring your kids and wives if you want. The river is a short walk from the range so you could go fishing if you want.
Anyone interested in coming early please let me know...

Or, for those of us that do not want to or cannot do the whole week, we can just show up on Friday for the Saturday shoot and Sunday morning breakfast and clean up?---as usual?

I will show up as my schedule allows, due to timing at work I will likely only be able to take off that Friday but I will play it by ear. I plan to be there though, been a messed up year so far.

This was from Hank, a while back....... The address that you will want to plug into your GPS is:
2180 McDowell Rd. Cynthiana, KY. 41031
Do a google earth map or map quest and make sure you are able to find this place. If you have any doubts call me ahead of time as I and probably you will not have cell service once you get close to the range. It would be a good idea to print off the directions so that if you do lose service you will still have a back-up. McDowell Rd is a small ,almost one lane, road off of US 62. If you are traveling east, It turns left just after you cross the lickin river bridge in Claysville, Ky. If you are coming in from the west it will be the last road to your right, just before you cross the river bridge. If you map quest it from the north and the directions say to come from Brooksville, Ky. you will be traveling on Hwy 19. McDowell Rd. is a mile or two past Milford, KY and will turn to the Right. Always stay to your left and the range will be about 4 miles down on the right. You will not be able to miss the range. If you do miss McDowell Rd. no worries, Keep going on HWY 19 a few more miles and you will come to a stop sign, turn right and then turn right again, almost like making a big U-turn. This is McDowell Rd and then you will find the range on the left.
