I take offense at generalization of Police as "PIG's". Having retired after 28 years as a LEO, I don't associate myself in the same category with the actions of that officer. We are all adult enough to know that there are "bad apples" in ANY profession. Saying pig when referring to police is akin to calling blacks "niggers?"

I have several friends in law enforcement that are great guys, it's unfortunate that in such a front line profession we have individuals that are sub standard but it is in every walk of life be it Doctors, Lawyers, Mechanics, Teachers, News Reporters, Waiters etc.
I refuse to put a label on my friends profession other than LAW ENFORCEMENT, yes we have likely all encountered officers that are over zealous and like to throw their weight around, have you ever had a bad Waiter at a restaurant? A bad Mechanic? A Doctors visit that was a flop?
What I don't get is the reaction we are seeing to what appears to be injustice. It seems that in the present day environment we are in instead of protesting, which I understand, a certain segment of society seems to look for an excuse to be destructive and go on a criminal rampage, we have seen it for years and it has to be dealt with, just because an injustice has happened it gives no cause to the level of "Thugism" we see every single time...........JMO

My problem here is the use of the word! There was a time not too long ago (the hippie era) when all police were referred to a PIGS! So to me, when you use that word, you are (in my opinion) referring to all police. And, if that was not the case, then there was a better choice of words that could be used to designate THAT particular cop. My police career took me thru that period from 67' thru 95' when the word PIG was derogatory and referred to all police (by the left wing) so excuse me if I got offended!

The word you used in your response is worse than any word in our vocabulary, even when written or implied, and especially when coming from a white man. I am appalled. I would be in favor of seeing your post edited. Two wrongs to not make a right.

While I do agree with Richard that a certain word is used most typically as a derogatory term meant for all law enforcement officers. The individual did edit his post because it upset Richard and others.

Has anyone heard or gotten transcripts of conversations with the "other" three officers charged in this case?........Personally, I have not? Mind you, Chauvin was the senior officer (I think 17 years?) and the other three were relatively new or only a few years. Without any details of what conversations may or may not have taken place between the four of them, I would not jump to conclusion on the fate of these satellite officers? It may well be, there was no malicious conspiracy to murder this Floyd guy? Chauvin might have told them he was just holding him down with no intent to kill?...........I am not taking any position here but the fact is, we don't have all the facts and statements from all the defendants to render a valid conclusion? These other three officers might well be exonerated based on the investigation? All to often, the "uninformed" are quick to convict without having ALL the facts..........Just saying......?
