Hi guys,
What type of results are you guys having with the 270 Match/Hunter E-MAX
What loads have been working well with the 270 MH.
These seem like a good balance between the 275 BE & 275 MH for a hunting load with a high BC along with long range penetration.

Keep in mind the e max has a .016 thick jacket,I would question its use as a hunting bullet but some would disagree. Parker designed it as a long range target bullet.

I was hoping to get some feedback to see how the thick jacket preformed in the woods on deer. I have shot several deer with a saboted Parker 250 BE and have always had great results; however those were in a 50 Cal with BH 209 going about 2000 fps out to 200yards. I was hoping to extend my effective range to 400 yards with a Begara 45/70 for the Thompson Encore with Jeff’s HIS system. PS. Good going this weekend with Jeff & Kyle. Thanks Charles

The 270 E-Max is a thin jacketed bullet just like the 250 BE you mentioned. The jacket on the MH is almost twice as thick as the BE and E-Max. From the reports I have seen the E-Max and the BE act about the same on deer. Very explosive! The MH tends to be less explosive but still very devastating.

That's the main reason I've quit using the BE's. But to be fair, the majority of my shots are also at bow hunting ranges, which is not what these bullets were designed for.

Thanks guys, the 275BE did a great job. YB , so you are now using the E-Max ? No. I had been using the 275BE in my .50 cal. when I was hunting a property that offered 250+ yd. shots. But I've lost access to that property and am back to strictly woods hunting again where my shots more often at typical bow hunting ranges. So this season I went back to 300 XTP's in the Savage because of that.

a lot depends on speeds, for above 2500 the e max or be would be similar as far as expansion. its an excellent target bullet though. if you are strictly woods hunting you could back the charge off and be fine with either I would think...

When I hunt the Midwest there are times I am in wooded areas and others when I am on bean fields. Therefore I would like a load to cover all bases. I hope to get a bullet to go at least 2500 so I may reach out to 400 yards if necessary. Thanks for the help.

The BE is a great target bullet and I do hunt with them with BH209 loads. For those big Midwest deer I would pick the MH.
