Hey everyone,
I’m brand new to the page and brand new to the world of smokeless Muzzleloading. So prepare for a lot of simple questions. I am thinking about jumping in with both feet and doing a scout conversion in Canada. I have two questions before I get going and hopefully Lots more later (means I went through with it). This will strictly be a hunting set up, as I’m understanding this would still qualify as a “muzzleloader” in primitive seasons.
1. Is the conversion fairly easy for a gun smith to complete if I order the conversion kit? Since sending the barrel or buying directly from Hankins in Canada wont work with gun laws over the border. 2. Are there any bullets that will fit without resizing? Thank you everyone in advance for the help

Welcome! Usually Parker Balistic Extreme will fit without sizing. I have had pretty decent luck using Lt Blue sabots and Pittman 225gr .40 Accumax. From what I understand a good gunsmith should be able to handle the job.

Welcome bmj89! After 45 years of shooting traditional and inline smokers in 07 went smokeless with a Savage ML2 and have never looked back at smokers. Currently shoot a Bestill Omega with a 45 Brux barrel (my favorite hunting gun) and a Savage ML2 in original 50 cal and another ML2 with a 45 Brux barrel. The 40 cal bullets in the HSB sabots shoot just great out of a 45 to 300yd. I have shot Hornady, Fury and Pittman in the sabots. Any decent gunsmith should be able to do the conversion. Much help is available here if there are questions or troubles. I am a hunter who wants a gun that shoots where I want to put the bullet. The scout conversion is great and have several friends who use that as their favorite hunting gun, and they have a choice of several SML. You will not be disappointed. Your Scout will outshoot almost any smoker you'll ever meet. There are several accessories you will find important, mostly a take down, folding or screw piece loading rod for field carry. Load vials and etc... There is a learning curve so search about here and ask any question you have. Safety is paramount and be sure to use a marked loading rod. Good luck and safe shooting. 10 ga

Also I am partial to the DI plug and module system.
