I just ran upon one of these guns on Gb...It cost around $ 1K,but no filing fee,200 stamp fee,etc.... I imediately called Silencerco to see if they could install one on my custom .45cal....They informed me that their gun has the silencer permenantly attached to the barrel and that is how they are getting away with selling their gun with no red tape involved...Pretty cool to say the least.....

Max load 100gr BH209 and thats the only recommended powder...Besides, how you gunna clean a permanently attached can with the more corrosive powders.
Only full bore projectiles like Thors, FPB and the Fed BOR LOK are recommended...Not even supposed to use Powebelts.
Its a Traditions Strikefire that you can buy for $400 or less
Sorry but i think its a joke.

The best thing about this gun is the ATF Decision Letter which states:
Also, the GCA §921(a)(16) defines the term “antique firearm” as:
So a manufacturer with the SOT license can legally build and permanently attach the can to a ML barrel. Whether these can be attached to a ML built on a centerfire action is a gray area. I am not sure how ATF defines "readily" in the last sentence. On a Rem 700ML action or the Savage 10ML-II, it should be legal for a SOT manufacturer to sell without the Form-4 ($200 stamp) on a SML gun. I have sent Silencerco a email asking about custom work.

SOT stands for Special Occupational Tax. The FFL 01 allows the holder to deal in purchasing and sales of firearms but not class-3 NFA (National Firearm Act) items. A FFL 07 allows the holder to manufacture firearms as well as buy and sell firearms but not including Class-3 NFA items. When the FFL holder wants to deal with NFA items (full-auto weapons, short barreled rifles and shotguns - SBR & SBS, and suppressors) they have to obtain a SOT (Special occupational Tax).
A Type 1 FFL will become a Class 3 SOT - which means they can deal or transfer either standard or NFA weapons A Type 7 FFL will become a Class 2 SOT - which means they can manufacture, deal, or transfer either standard or NFA weapons

In my experience with my can and using it on a muzzleloader, I’m not sure this is a good idea.
Muzzle velocity is completely unstable. My last 15 rounds with the can had an ES of 68fps. The first round is always high. Then they drop, then they plateau about 30-35fps slower than the high.
At 100yards this might not matter much. But with an inaccurate Traditions rifle this makes 200-300 very challenging.
Also loading is going to be interesting. The can holds in the vapor and causes powder to stick to the bore of the rifle. Pellets will be ok but BH209 will stick. If you don’t have good bullet or sabot to bore seal this might be a problem.
I work with Silencerco and as a rule they do some great things. This appears to have been rushed into market.

Do you have this rifle Nick ? No. My experience is shooting a Silencerco Hybrid on my RemBrux 45. I do shoot. Traditions Vortex striker fire that this rifle is built on. Decent rifle, great trigger.
