So these are good, accurate hunting bullets, but what velocity would be the maximum for Whitetails?

Depends on your theory of performance. I am pushing the 275gn at 2950 to 3000+..and terminal performance every time.and the 300gn at 2850+. But I lay off of bone shots. Same with the Accumax. Not always a blood trail but always dead deer. Drop

The 275 BE was never designed to be a high speed hunting bullet, will it work? YES, like Russell said, dead deer every time. If you are in the camp of a double lung pass through? I would say 2300 max. some may argue the point but just my experience. the 300 is marginally better because of mass, both are very accurate bullets. There are bullets with a better BC but they are very accurate.
I personally am not an advocate of bullets lighter than 300s at high speeds in .45 BUT that's JMO, IF it's shot at lower speeds that's a different story . I shoot the 275 Accumax in my Apex @ 2500 FPS and it slams them, very accurate also. some like pass through s (ME), but some like to dump all the energy in the animal for an instant kill, depends on which camp you are in I guess.

hillbill hit the nail on the head , the 300 gr parker BE is devastating at 2600 FPS , I have found the 275 BE at high velocity will not provide a exit hole

The only deer I shot with a BE was a 300 grain at about 2250fps saboted out of a 50 cal. At 40 yards behind the shoulder I had a nickel size hole going in and a 2 inch hole coming out. It held together but if it was up on the shoulder I imagine it would have been a bigger mess than it was.
