there have been some that questioned the load that Jeff shot at the KY challenge and said it was unsafe, very few actually knew the charge/bullet weight that was being used. I will not state the bullet or charge weight but I will say it was a custom made purpose built bullet.
Jeff ask me to run the numbers on Quickload and while we can only get a good idea from this program since it is designed for CF cases and throated barrels we can get close.
plugging in all the numbers QL says 37417 psi figured with a 3.8% powder compression, very far from being a dangerous load I would say. QL also says that said load should get 4315 fps which it did not, what does that tell me? pressures were even lower than QL estimates.
so from looking at the numbers I can assure you that NO ONE was put in danger by being present at the test firing, hopefully this will end all the speculation from others that it was a dangerous situation.
Just trying to clear the air, not trying to start another PP contest with those that were Questioning the safety factor.......sincerely ........Bill

Sounded just like another shot to me? But I was about 20 feet away. Jeff did not seem to have any problem pulling the trigger so I figured he had done his homework! It was a lathe turned bullet and weighted....................................Forgot, my lips are sealed!

How was the recoil? I would think it would kick like a mule, but with the pressure number doesn't seem like it would be too bad. I never felt unsafe at all at the shoot.
