I called and talked to Jeff Saturday evening. I didn't want to ask him a bunch of questions on a Saturday evening. Just got a quick game plan on how much money I'll need to do one of these conversion.
What kind of velocities can I expect to get out of a scout with the 55 to 60 grain charges and 275 Parker BE's?
Thanks in advance.

My CVA Hunter is at 2300 with 55 grains of imr 4198 and a 275 be. Bullet right out of the bag.

I'm going to try 65 grains and a 250 next weekend. Should still be in the safe pressure zone.

I shot my apex today with 250xtp tried 60gr of h4198, 60gr reloader7, and 10/50 of n110 and h4198. tried without wads, with veggie wad and with wool wads. I am not going to pursue the lighter bullets any farther. I will be going to 275-300gr and just have to eat the recoil or stick with sabots with this break action. Saboted 200sst is very accurate, just over 1/2" at 100yds consistently.

I tried 250 be's (straight from the bag), and 58 grains of imr 4198 on Sunday and my groups were about 6 to 8 inches at 100. No Chrono available. Sucked. I tried the same load with a wool wad under the bullet and my group shrunk to about the size of a golf ball. Crazy difference. And stinky too. Bipod with my fist as a rear rest. I took pictures, but not smart enough to post yet. I'm starting to like this stuff though. Fixing to buy a sizer and try out Kyle's 250's next.

I'm shooting Kyle's 275s at a little over 2500 with a wad, accuracy is good, kills good, recoil? not so good but not killer either. I think the 275 is the perfect weight bullet for this platform, add a brake and it would be a kids gun.
My .40 Apex is pushing a 300 grain bullet around 2700 but it is a larger profile allweld barrel with a brake, with no brake it would be brutal.
IMO with 275s in a factory converted barrel (Apex 1.100) 2500 is the limit, in a 1.00 barrel? less 300S ? I would think 2250 max if your shoulder can take it.
