These are used targets I turn around and then use a blue square for aiming the other holes are from the from side of the target and there 30 Caliber holes.

Looks good Carl! Would that be 35 MOA up from a 100 yard zero? I suspect you were using at least a 20 MOA base and you had enough "come ups" on your scope?

Good shooter, good rifle, good bullets. Amazing that a SML can shoot that good at 1k.

Hey Richard the gun has a 20 MOA base. The Big Sightron has 70 MOA of elevation so I really didn't worry about not having enough elevation. 35MOA UP from 100 yards with the IMR 3031 load came pretty close to the blue square. the same 35MOA up was to much with the 10X powder charge. At 2950 it called for about 32.5 up I think that would have been very close so the BC of the 325gr is right about what Kyle thought. I would say in a 1-18 twist barrel it should be .410 that would be really close for shorter range shooting.
One thing that threw me off when I shot a the clay birds on the back bank at 1050 yrds normally if you hit about one foot below the clay bird you will be close to center on the record target not so with this big 45 Cal bullet I hit about two feet low and I still hit the paper high on the first round of shooting so it is dropping off pretty fast at that distance.
The gun weighs 17.9lbs the recoil isn't bad it just jumps a little but you can see your impact on the bank it actually shot one clay bird at 1050 yrds that would be a fun shoot just trying to hit them with a muzzleloader.

Not everyone can pull that off regardless of the gun, ammo, bullet or conditions...it requires some very skillful trigger pulling. Great shooting Carl!
