this is something that's in the way unless you ever need it and then its worth its weight in gold. hopefully none of you guys are as dumb as I am, I call it the DA bullet puller, you can guess what the DA stands for.
its designed to pull the rear bullet on a double load, front one then pushes out...
it works VERY well, I pulled a bullet tonight in 5 minutes from the time I started taking the barreled action from the stock til the time it was put back together.
it still needs a tweak or two but if you ever double load a bullet it is the ticket. the stop acts as a slide hammer to bump the bullet out, it will be thicker and heavier soon.

it will live in my truck during season and range trips, hopefully it will never be needed again. It sure could save a mans hunting trip if one were dumb enough to need it...

Its a big improvement on the rubber mallet and the three pound sledge I carry to the range. Great fun when a bullet get half way and stops. The best parts is the looks other folks give you......you sure you know what your doing

They already think your nuts pouring smokeless powder in your muzzleloader then they see you beating on it with a hammer. Done this twice once because I had a double load and once cause I thought I had a double load. Hate feeling like an idiot! Love having inventors on the board!

Excellent idea Bill! I have made similar ones to remove a CF case when you open the bolt and find only the case head! Mine threads up into the neck of the case but without the "bore guide!" So, if I can review what you did................First turned a piece of Nylon or similar material to fit the bore. (basically you could use a cheap standard Rem. CF bore guide with the end removed..or not?) Then drilled it for the size brass rod you used. Threaded one end for the knob. Turned a piece of stock and added a "handle" for your "hammer" part of the slide hammer. Threaded the other end to accept two different attachments. One with a drill which you hand turn into the base of the bullet and one with a screw that threads into the bullet for extraction. I can see that the screw could easily be threaded into the brass piece.........my question is, what method are you using to attach the drill bit into the second piece?..........solder? epoxy? Thanks for sharing. Now I have something else to make and add to the weight of an already heavy range box Just thinking out loud..........since the rod is going thru the bore guide, it could probably be made out steel since it would only be in contact with the guide?

Very nice Bill, it took me about an hour to pull the barrel on my gun to drill out the bottom bullet shove the top bullet through and reassemble the gun.

You would want something non-sparking to be on the safe side. If a spark set off any powder grains and then set off the second charge it would be a bad day.

I think you would be 100% correct if dealing with black powder but smokeless? We are already using a steel drill bit? Just my thoughts Ken.

Take it from me,,,, just be careful and don't drill all the way through the bullet being pulled.

Take it from me,,,, just be careful and don't drill all the way through the bullet being pulled. Yes I remember the story you told a out the recent mishap you told us about at the challenge. If one was using the tool on their own gun ....and.knew what bullet was in there. And the length...would graduation marks on the shaft of that tool help in gauging depth drilled? Helping to avoid a mishap? Drop

With the bullets we shoot, their construction is either copper/aluminum (tips) and/or lead? No? So I don't see the spark factor but yes, maybe heat.
